About Us – Island Imports

Island Imports was established in 1995. The business is owned and operated by René & Carolyn.

After a trip to Indonesia in 1995 we fell in love with the lifestyle, the culture and of course the artwork seen in the pots, reliefs and statues.

Being obsessive tropical garden owners for a long time, we decided to bring home a piece of Bali everytime we visited for our own pleasure. As we open our garden to the public (once a year) we found we had so much interest in the Balinese gardens and lifestyle we started to import for clients.

Our garden has been in numerous garden magazines and on many television programmes including Burke’s Backyard, Gardening Australia and Hot Property.

What do we do

All our pieces are authentic, handcrafted items. We do not deal in cheap, cast concrete products. “Island Imports” is a home based business (without the overheads of a retail store). Our prices are always well below our competitors. We also stock a noticeably unusual range as opposed to the run of the mill stock. René travels to Indonesia a few times a year to source out new and exciting products.

Our website enables us to keep you up to date with current stock and new products. Our regular customers particularly value our ability to import pieces custom made to their liking at affordable prices. Our website shows some of our range, as our stock changes frequently. We will provide you with information regarding the interesting range of products we import.
